I do believe, we are a nation at war, but have yet to understand the implications of such. Unjustified means what it says. No we are not a people who want the innocent to suffer unjustly. We are a nation of laws Lamika. It is unjust to torcher mame and kill, which is what has been the case. I believe our leaders have been at fault. Was the the war unjust, war to me is a crime in its self. Peace is it just or unjust, peace is what we should be talking about Lamika. Peace will we ever know the true meaning of peace?

TRICKY question... I think it was justified to stop the attrocities and opression that was occurring, but not justified based on the grounds we told the world, the intell we had, the plan we had after the war, the lack of cooperation from the world leaders, etc. However, in saying it WAS justified, THEN we have to discuss the concept of our duty to the world, as a world power to stop oppression and what we are doing or not doing in places like Africa where there is even MORE oppression and yet we do very little. So even saying it was justified as far as YES there was oppression and human rights violations, we have disagreement on how far we should go and how well we are handling our role as the major super power and "big brother" to the world. To ME, it seems like we are applying our policies of assisting the oppressed and spreading democracy very unevenly and only when it suits out purposes. BUT, STILL, there was a shred a small part of the Iraq war which was justifiable and that was to end the regime of a dictator who persecuted and victimized his own people. But beyond that.. not much else about the war seemed justifiable, in fact it seems like it was a pandoras box which opened up a whole bunch of OTHER issues which maybe even made the humanitarian aspect null and void. so there were ELEMENTS which were noble and justifiable, but not many.

It's really a sad commentary for this nation that such a question even has to be asked - let alone receive negative answers from some of the people on this forum.

The war is justified and long over due. For over 25 years the Islamic terrorists have been indiscriminately killing thousands of innocent men, women and children, murdering Americans all over the world as well as committing acts of war against the United States - pretty much with impunity - and without any effective response from us or the rest of the world.

They now know, if nothing else, that these tactics will no longer be accepted - and will be dealt with severely - at least by the United States and her true allies.
And that's something you can be proud of.

UNJUSTIFIED!!!!

We consider the people in Iraq terrorists, but who are the real terrorists?

We take their homes, send millions of troops there, strike fear in all of the people. And we've taken over their country. We took out Sadam who, although was evil, kept the country united. The arabs are very divided. The people live in groups, and will hold grudges against another group for hunderds of years. (note: i'm not pro sadam, but i do think there could have been a better way)

I think it's funny how the press says all of the US troops that are killed by the "terrorists." But it never says how many of the Iraqis are killed by the US. And that number is far, far greater.

Oh, and the fact that one of the main reasons we started this war was because of nuclear weapons........that weren't even there........ well, think about it.

I could talk for hours on why its unjustified. But this is just a little...... summary.

Oh and a quick note: we are fightin IRAQ, not the terrorists at this point in time. And because we are fighting innocent people, we are become terrorists.

Justified. Ever heard of the movie Rambo first blood. No but really they kill 3000 American citizens and they were going to continue to do and will unless they are destroyed. A violent threat and can only be Delt with by unconditional surrender or defeat, they won't surrender. just because the UN didn't ok means nothing. Especially since France was taking brides from Saddam to delay us. If you think we didn't find WM D's then your wrong. We have lots of evidence of Chemical warfare plans and they dumping of these into a river through Saudi Arabia. anyways i could argue this for hours. And if your definition of terrorist is someone who takes homes and strikes fear then the IRS is terrorist. Calling Americans terrorists is incredibly Naive

It's justified now. We went to war to fight terrorist and everyone supported it after 9-11 and other terrorists attacks we didn't respond to. Now we are fighting terrorist in Iraq. Giving up would be giving up on 9-11 (the innocent lives that died) and our security. Most of these terrorist are coming from Iran and Syria too. However, with our society today who hate war we will never go in there and clean out the birthplace of terrorist.

End of story! If President Bush would not have started the war in Iraq under false pretenses, all of those dead humans would be alive today! Think about it!

The president doesnt need to justify the war on iraq. does a trucking company have to justify sending a driver on a different route than he or she is used to? he controls the military and we all voluntarily joined. whatever he deems necessary is our job and that's all there is to it. and questioning our government and not supporting our country in my opinion is only going to lead to more problems because it shows weaknesses in our society.

Justified-Iraq clearly supported terrorists, and Saddam himself was an indirect threat to the US through terror networks. However, how we fought this war is not as good.

OK, here's the answer no one has balls enough to say.

1. Yeah, it was justified. Saddam Hussein was our enemy and it was eventually going to come down to him or us. We got him first. it really doesn't matter if he had WMD or not he was going to come after us sooner or later. Just like the riddler was going to come after Batman eventually.

After that very basic point...everything goes straight to hell! Bush phucked up in so many ways it was impossible for him to get back on his wall again. He allowed that dummy Dumsfeld to dictate ludicrous policy after policy and eventually we lost all credibility with the world and our own people.

But to answer your question, yes, I understand why we went after them and I know there were lies being told and public relations scams on both ends but itn the end, I hold fast to the concept...That man, Hussein was going to come after us eventually, it was in his character and he had all the reason too, so on that point alone, We needed to take his asss out!
