I am attempting to clone an original DVD9 disc (around 7.5 gb in size) and i am trying to burn it onto a DVD5 blank disc (4.7 gb).

I have been on the FAQ area of the site and it says it can be done but i have tried it and had problems.

I inserted my source disc (DVD9, 7.5gb) and selected 'customise' and had all the files ticked on that disc to clone. I inserted my blank DVD-R (DVD5, 4.7 gb) disc. I then went to the copy as DVD section on the main CloneDVD screen and on that pull down menu next to it i selected 8.5 (DVD9).

Aware that this reduces project quality but still wanting to continue with it regardless i clicked 'start'.

It started as it usually does saving the file to a Temp folder (step 1 of 2) and all was good.

Then it went to start step 2: 'Burning' and immediately it said project size is too big for 4.7 gig DVD5 disc, please remove content. Does anybody know what im doing wrong?

It is a feature of cloneDVD to be able to burn from DVD9 to a DVD5 disc so what is wrong?

Try Dvdshrink, it is free, just search for it!
It will compress the size down until it will fit!
