You should definitely go for it. I skated for almost 17 years as a kid, spent a few years coaching and then went back 12 years later. It took a few sessions to get my feet back under me, but once I did it everything came back and I was competing at adult competitions in less than a year.

I have friends who had never skated before and once on ice, they can still skate easily. It's just in the basics: you stand with slightly bending knees and your skates should be straight and parallel. Then push off slowly until you are used to the ice.
Besides, with 5 years of experience, you shouldn't have any problems coming back on the ice.

I hadn't skated since I was a kid either, but I started again when I was 34, and started playing ice hockey for the first time in my life. I wasn't great, but I had a great time for the next 20 years.
It's like riding a bicycle (on ice).
Go for it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Of course!! You'll definitely have an easy time learning to skate again. Your body will remember the movements from before.

I started when I was four then I quite until I was 11. Go for it! Of course you can go back, but be cautiioned that its not like riding a bike. You can't just get on and know everything again.
