She has a 99.9% chance for ear-mites. These pests can be very painful to a cat, as they chomp away the delicate inner lining of the cat's ear. Please take your pet to the doctor ASAP, she is suffering!!!!

Definitely sounds like ear mites, but take her to the vet so they can find out for sure. They'll swab some of the dirt out of the ear and smear it on a slide. By looking at the slide under the microscope they'll be able to determine if it's ear mites and how serious the problem is. Ear mites can also cause infection due to the cat constantly scratching. The vet will show you how to properly give the medication and how to keep the ears clean. Also by keeping your cat on a monthly flea and tick medication will help prevent reinfestation of the ear mites. Please don't just go buy the ear cleaner from the pet store. Half the time they don't work and you will need antibiotics if there's an infection. There's also the slight chance that she just has dirty ears that need to be cleaned more often. One of my cats ears always look like there's ear mites but he's been checked numerous times by different vets and they say he just has dirty ears, so I just clean them every few weeks. Hope your kitty feels better!

Sounds like it could be ear mites - these are nasty and can cause a lot of trouble.
I generally get some ear drops from the pet shop and that solves the problem within a couple of days, if it doesn't then I take the cat to the vets as the mites can cause a deep infection that needs more than over the counter medication.
If left untreated it could cause deafness.
Ear mites can be transmitted between cats and other animals but not to people.

Your cat has a severe case of earmites. Take it to the vet since it also sounds like it may have an infection from all the scratching. The vet will give your cat a good ear cleaning and you some medicine to put in it's ears. Follow the directions completely and then clean the ears regularly and this will not become a problem again.

She's got ear mite's, You need some medicine from the vet to apply to the ear's. I tried to get rid of that stuff with wet Q-tips but she didn't stop itching so I had to call the vet. It must be horrible to have something like that in your ear's! Poor thing!

She has ear mites. Get some of the mite stuff at the vet or pet store and clean them out with it and q-tips. I used to use peroxcide, but that was for the dogs, don't know what that may do to a cat. She needs them treated though or the mites will really start to damage tissue in her head.

It sounds as if it is an earmite infestation and she needs treatment from a vet. A shot of invermectin will get rid of them. I had something like that recently with my rescue cat and it was NOT earmites - I have been treating it with drops I got from the vet and it is about cleared up now.
If it is painful for her I hope it has not gone far enough to damage her ears. Please get it treated ASAP.

if she cries when they are bumped they must be painfull and most likely infected....
you need to take her to the vet so they can clean her ears and inspect them properly.
the dirt is thick? how long have you left this problem for it to become so severe??????
get her to the vet asap and don't touch her ears in the meantime.
