well it usually is about less than $10 and you can do it yourself and it depends on how fast your hair grows if it grows fast then not very long. Hope this helps! Good luck on your hair!

Absolutely. African American women have been relaxing their hair chemically for years, some Latino women use them as well but it's only for very coarse hair because it can break your hair off. These can be found in any drugstore or beauty supply.

If you're of the Caucasian persuasion there is an option for you too. It's been around for the like the last six years in the States. Their might be different names for it but I've heard it referred to as Japanese straightening because it was started in Japan. They basically put a chemical on the hair and go over strands with small hot irons to seal it in. It's expensive like around $1,000 and I believe it takes several hours. If you get this you definitely need to find a great stylist who's thoroughly trained because the wrong person can seriously damage your hair.

I've read that some people love it because they don't have to blow dry and their hair is glossy. But others have complained that their hair is just too straight with no body. So do your research.

I just got my hair permed like 2 months ago. When you get a perm that's what the chemicals do permanently straighten your hair. It lasts about 3 months.Around 60.your hair stays straight unless you washed it.

Even perms aren't totally permanent. The new growth always comes in straight.

Perms aren't the same for Caucasian people as they are for African Americans. Perms for Caucasians makes hair curly and does the opposite for African Americans.

For Caucasians, Japanese straightening is permanent but only on the hair that was there when you got it done. It's not unhealthy for your hair as someone claimed but it makes your hair totally stick straight. Not to mention, it's really expensive. Embrace the curls!

Permanently no... your natural hair will grow out and eventually it won't be straight anymore.

Only lasts about a couple of months.. I used to do it when I was younger. The cost depends on how and where you get it done. I used to have my mom do it for me. I bought a perm kit and for the duration that it was on my hair my mother was combing it straight. It worked, but it's not good for your hair.

Yes, you can permanently straighten your hair but it's usually pretty costly and only lasts a couple of months or until your hair starts growing out.

In order to permanently straighten your hair, you will need to alter your DNA. Your DNA has alleles (traits), and one of them is for straight, wavy or curly hair.

now, we can temporarily change the structure of hair by styling products. We can put curling irons or rollers on straight hair to get it wave or curly. And likewise, we put a straightner on curly/wavy hair to make it straight. But it doesnt last, because its an exterior change. Just like dying your hair color is temporarily. Unless you alter the allele for hair type or color, you wont be able to make any permanent changes

The only truly permanent change to your hair is radiation in the form of chemotherapy. But, in my opinion, the cons of cancer far outweight the pros of wanting to change your hair DNA.

You can do that Chinese straightner thing but thats not good for your hair and you will have to keep redoing it depending on how fast your hair grows and your roots
