I downloaded a LINUX iso but it's in parts and if I just extract it it'll ask me to overwrite it.

What do I do in order to put them together so it can be just one iso file? They're both in seperate .rar files. They're like.. part 1 and part 2 and i want them to be together.

No rediculous answers please, thank you.

Make sure part 1 and part 2 are in the same folder.

Open Part 2 and extract the file. If you see a message that says Next Volume is required, then there is a part missing, in which case you will need to download that part too.

If you see no error messages during the extraction, chances are the ISO file that was extracted is already the combination of the two parts. If you try to burn the ISO with something like Nero (using the burn Image option) do you see any error messages? If your burning software writes the ISO without errors then you got it right.

Basically your ISO has been rared into to was known as a spanned set, and when you extract the file from the last part of the set, it looks for all the other parts of the rar file. if it finds all the parts it extracts them all and combines them into one file.

ISO represents a CD / DVD image. You should not burn the .ISO like any other file on a data disc. Instead, you should burn its "contents". One single ISO file on a DVD will not work. You should install some "disc image burning" program (like Nero, or Alcohol 120%, or if you have Windows Vista / 7, you won't need a third-party program), then just open the ISO (or in Nero, select the option "CD/DVD Image", then select the ISO file), and then just click "Burn"... After the burn process completes, you should now see several files on your DVD (if it's a DVD movie, you should see the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders), instead of the single .ISO file.
