Depending on your natural colour, it will fade either faster or slower. Make sure you use a good color protect shampoo and conditioner, one that protects shades of Red should work. Don't wash, blow dry, or straighten your hair for 3 days to let the color fully set. Throw your hair into a loose ponytail so it doesn't look dirty during those 3 days. Good luck!

With hair dye, permenant is neverrrr permenant regardless if it was done professionally or not. It's usually either 6-30 washes, I've never had purple but that's a range that they alll fit into.

Purple hair dye tends to fade VERY fast, I had it and it faded in two weeks. Ask you hairdresser for a really good shampoo that keeps colour in and it should help. Pureology is expensive, but is the BEST colour-care shampoo...its around 30 dollars but has won awards because its so good. I recommend you use it.

It really depends on the brand and your current hair color. If it's blonde it will go a bit faster, but if its brown it will fade from red to burgundy slowly. You might want to be careful with this because after many rinses you might be stuck with an awful color and your mom might not let you do it again if she's strict about your hair.
