I recently caught this from a cheating ex and after speaking to my friends as i was scared as hell a few of them said they had it before one of them twice
i was horified when he said its just like having a cold!!!! I felt ashamed and disgusted

I, too, am laughing at the 'shameful and disgusting' comment! You'd think that people on here were living in the Dark Ages! No wonder kids are afraid to go and get themselves checked out - no wonder some of them are too afraid to discuss sexual health with their parents! As adults we are responsible for educating our young people, not vilifying them!

I used to know the figures for std rates 5 years ago Because a friend just happened to work in the g.u. department.
And lets just say that statistics say that nearly every person that is sexually active and has had multiple partners has a dose.1 in 3 of the population.
In the usa over 20 million new cases of stds were reported last year.Get your head round that.

How do you know your cheating ex did not catch it from your friends? It is not a normal thing to be normalizing sexual diseases - what would your friend say if he caught Aids, would he say it is just like catching the flu bug.
Make sure you get check that the infection has cleared after you take your antibiotic.

It is a sexually transmitted disease. I don't know what it's like, but I don't think it is anything like a cold. Talk to your parents or a doctor.
