An interesting question...to start with when was the last time we had bird flu....not so long ago or any other animal flu. was it checked and were they vaccinated...I dont think so instead they slaughtered them. Would there be any more outbreaks if they killed all the birds...i'm a sceptic because if there were poultry imports it could happen again.

No one can predict the future - not even medical experts like me (GNVQ in food hygience, boyakasha!).

Bird flu may well get worse globally, because it affects the Third World mainly, yet we in the West will think the situation is getting better.

Take AIDS. We know it's "bad", like global warming, but we're not running around like headless chickens (bad choice of words :-D)....we feel this way because the dead did not pile up in the streets in the West as was prophecyed. They dead ARE piling up in Africa and the rest of the Third World, however.

Death will stalk the earth. Why do you think the media is making such a big thing out of it?

I think it is impossible to totally eradicate any virus, only vaccinate it so it only every affect a tiny minority.

This winter has been surprisingly mild. I am hoping it has mutated and will wipe out the 2 rat-like creatures, that my neighbour calls his dogs... peace and tranquility will return to my garden
