For the last eight years my wife has been going to school to be a doctor, and just graduated. We are severly in debt paying her tuition. Now we are on the verge of having our first child, and my wife wants to be a stay at home mother. I work as a security officer, and if she doesn't get a job as a doctor, then we are going to go bankrupt. She refuses to be anything but a stay at home mom. What should I do?

how in earth did a doctor and security officer hook up? you must have the most awesome moves, sir. you are my new american idol..can you sing?

anyways, if your the security guard at a bank you can always skim some money off the top. If this isnt possible, you can always consider letting your wife perform surgeries from home on your kitchen table. the mafia and gangs would greatly appreciate this service!

booma boom!

nicely I stay at abode. nevertheless I do run a dayhome and generate an earnings and pay costs. even nevertheless, I cook dinner, sparkling, laundry, and so on. He does the backyard artwork, he enjoys it. i don't think of he somewhat 'expects' it out of me nevertheless, as i'm contributing and those childrens come first over the abode - Im being paid to observe/prepare them - not sparkling my abode. yet I anticipate it out of myself simply by fact i'm able to do it, and could quite have it carried out as often as a probability so we've time to spend jointly doing something yet abode projects and cooking. nevertheless as quickly as we've childrens i would be a SAHM finished time (nevertheless i will nonetheless have an earnings for a at the same time as) and then i think of expectancies will shift as he would be paying extra costs than he's now and helping a infant - yet i'm already practised so thats solid - i will in basic terms only save getting extra sensible! i think of socially there is extremely of a stigma against abode dads. i don't think of their might desire to be. yet traditionally adult adult males have been meant to be the companies and a womans place grew to become into with the infants. So some human beings see housedads as lazy deadbeats, making their women individuals artwork and do their jobs. I have not have been given any concern with housedads, and that i like the belief. i think of it is super that some adult adult males are taking extra of an interest of their infants and properties, and permitting their better halves to pursue careers, in the event that they're occupation minded. Dads are solid mothers and dads too. and ladies individuals are solid workers. i don't see a concern.

You can't be serious!! Why spend all that time and money and put all that thought into becoming a DOCTOR and want to be a stay at home mom! If you were financially able to do that, it would be ok, but with all the debt issues you're having??? How can she not think about that? WOW I'd sit her down and have a long talk about two incomes being better than one.

Good luck with that one!

You need to talk to her, she may want to stay home because of the baby, but depending on the doctoral degree then she may be able to work a different shift than you that way someone is always with the baby... But you really need to explain your concerns financially and I would hope that she would understand, and figure out a solution to the problem.

Suggest that she use her skills by working from home. Medical transcriptionist, medical billing and coding etc.
She can stay at home with her child and work her own hours.
The pay is real good, not as good as a doctor, but u have to understand that compromise is in order.
She can do both. I understand her because i am 6 minths pregnant and would love to quit my job and stay at home. I am now studying for medical transcription and will be at home with my baby boy within a few months of his birth.
Its the dream life!!!
Good luck and Congratuations!!!!

Maybe you sould sit her down and go over the finances with her so that she can see for herself that if she doesn't go to work, that you all will be in the poor house. Being a stay at home mom is great, but it's not that great when your broke as joe turkey.

Good Luck

I am sorry, but she sounds kind of selfish. Yes, it's nice that she would like to be a stay at home mom. But, not all households can afford that, I know my can't. She needs to make use of her skills and eard some money for the household. Sit her down and explain to her that if she doesn't go to work there won't be a home for her to stay at because you can't afford it.

Tell her to get back over there and make you some food. and then tell her that she should have thought about the baby before going back to school in the first place. Now I would say she needs that job to make the money to pay the bills off. Then when that is accomplished she can stay at home.
