I think it depends on how much alcohol you were drinking. When I retired from work I pretty much woke up and had a beer--what the heck, I didn't have to go to work any more. So my new job became drinking and getting sober enough so I could go out and get some more and start again. It got so that I began to get the shakes if I didn't have it. I finally got pancretitis. Tried to tough it out at home , but ended up in the hospital and detox for a week. Then an outpatient daily trip to the hospital with others for a month. I was still a mess after that with shaking. I was given Librium, which is very addictive, but one of the docs told me to knock that off. I finally, slowly got better. You need to make sure you don't get dehydrated and that you eat balanced meals. Get all the alcohol out of the house and don't hang with the same old people. AA is a tremendous support help. With the 12 step program for learn why you drank. You get a sponsor if you want who will help you over the rough spots. It's not easy if you are real far gone because alcohol is everything to you, what you turn to when your happy, sad or just because. You have to decide based upon your motivation to stop drinking and how much you were drinking. All my best to you. There are AA meetings going on just about any place any time of day. You can find out where by looking in the newspaper or going on line.

There is no safe way to detox at home from alcohol unless you aren't a true alcoholic. The reason is that you could try weaning yourself off or stop cold turkey but there are risks involved, even death. You could get delirium tremens or hallucinate or get so ill that you would need a DR. nearby. Also you're more likely to go back to drinking because of not thoroughly detoxing like a hospital would do and less likely to go back to it. It's a lifelong battle and you MUST also go to AA meetings all the time. Hearing other peoples stories about drinking helps so much too.plus the new drug that makes you ill if you start again

Detox, are you talking a hangover or a more serions addiction problem? You do not have to go to a care facility to join AA. They are in the phone book and will get you with someone right away. That is the route I took and have been clean sober for over 15 years not always easy, but one day at a time works. You might also sit down with you doctor and tell them what you are going to do. They can and will provide a lot of support.

NO, NO, NO. It is great that you want to stop drinking, but alcohol detox is the most varible detox. Some patients are a little aggitated and unfriendly for a day or two, while others are hallucinating, confused, violent and have seizures. Inside: your heart can become too stressed and beat irregularly and too quickly and blood pressure can rise. This can lead to stroke or heart attack. PLEASE detox from alcohol to help save your life, but please do it safely at a hospial detox program.

No, there is not. In fact, no way works. Cold shower? No. Coffee? No. Pills? No. Burnt toast? You'll just have a bad taste for nothing.
Your liver is the only thing that can detox your body. And the max is can handle is one beer every hour. So unless you have a way to hook up a few more livers to yourself, sleep.

1) Commitment
2) Start off with a bottle of your choice this will be day 1
3) Every day, gradually have less until it's gone.
4) Whoever lives with you HAS to be 100% on board with support.
- As a way to help keep your goal, it might be helpful to set out what you are allowing to drink for the next five days with each container containing less and less of it.

Hi there,
We like to have an occasional drink, we are now hydrating our bodies using what is called the Pimag Living Water System and the Magnetic Inner soles. The inner soles increase the circulation in your body which pushes the toxins out of the body.
Try it, its safe and effective, so much so we now run it as a business!
