I have been having this problem(s) for about a 1 1/2 years. It first started with leg twitiches, not large muscle twitches, but tiny little ones all over, usually after walking. Lightheadedness, irregular periods (skipped), constipation, cold all the time, aching in legs, increase in facial hair, weight gain which has leveled off for now, because I eat around 1000 cal a day. I have been diagnosed with mild mitral valve regurgitation, however the docs think that is not a problem. My thyroid is fine along with my other blood tests. My pulse is sometimes very low ~43/min, and b.p. is sometimes 90/60. They tried to say anxiety, which I doubted, but gave some antidepressants a try, they didn't work. I have a 2-4 good days and the other days I can hardly leave the house. I have been an athlete my whole life and all of a sudden I just can't push through. Not sure what step to take or if there are others with similar problems. Any ideas?

sounds like your body is not producing enough vitamin B-12. a deficiency in B-12 could explain the leg twitches, lightheadedness, cold all the time, aching in legs, low blood pressure and anxiety. the combination of all these symptoms could cause the other symptoms. I'm not a doctor but I had many of the same symptoms you have and my doctor told me it was due to a very low amount of B-12. so low in fact that over the counter Vitamins could not help. I now get a B-12 shot once a month and it really helps.

Could your problems [leg twitiches, little ones all over/ usually after walking, lightheadedness, irregular periods (skipped), constipation, cold all the time, aching in legs] be a result of lack of exercise? I cannot answer the facial hair question.

Boy . . . That is a really tough one. I would consider talking to an allergist, as a food allergy could've potentially developed and over exposure is just destroying you. If you're taking any medications or anything like that, it may be a possible cause, though I'd imagine every doctor you've seen has told you that.

Past that, I have honestly not heard of anything like it that a doctor wouldn't have immediately suggested. I would just continue talking with them and nurses, perhaps go to webmd's website and ask the forums there.

I really doubt you got a real thyroid test. Go back and insist on one. Not a TSH test. A free T3 test and a free T4 test. If the T3 and T4 come back normal, you need to have your adrenaline tested. That's a complicated test, so have your thyroid tested first. It's a blood test and it takes 2 seconds.

Your heart rate says you have a thyroid or adrenal problem.

Have them check your nervous system, the twitching could be caused by damage to nerve fibers. In which case they would prescribe Alpha Lipoic Acid.

And take vitamins every day.

Did they test for polycystic ovarian disease? My next step as a health care provider would be to refer you to an endocrinologist. I don't have access to the tests already ran, so this is my best opinion based on what you have said.
