That mileage is not bad if it's been taken care of. Look over the car and see what kind of shape it is in. Pull the dipstick and see what the oil looks like. Is the engine clean or has it been cleaned? If you are buying from a car lot, all of these things have been "dressed up" and will be hard to see. If from an individual, look under the seats and see if its dirty and under the car for signs of oil leakage. If the car has been maintained, it will be in pretty good shape and would probably be a good buy. Go check the blue book for value.

Only if the seller can produce maintenance records showing that the oil has been changed regularly (every 5,000 miles at most) If you cannot get these records, take off the oil fill cap, and shine a flash light down into the cylinder heads, and look to see what color you see, if its black and sludge looking, run away. If it is a brown color it should be okay.

The mileage along makes it completely a bad idea. How many owners? Have you run a carfax vin check? There are alot of things to consider especially buying domestic.

Yes, definitely a bad idea.
152,000 miles is a lot for a used car.

It depends on a lot... go to www.kbb.com to get an idea of a fair price for that car.... I did this for standard equipment, automatic transmission, in good condition, and in my area it says the price if purchased from a private party should be $3140... so the price you are getting is right on par with that, but I assumed a lot

those things like to eat their head gaskets at around this mileage , if it has been fixed and the car is clean and a good maintenance record it should be worth it

Absolutly, seeing how I sold one from my car dealership with 157k for $4,000, and it sold in a heartbeat.
