I have that feeling a lot. It is dissociation. I feel numb as if I am not here and now but floating off somewhere else. People talk and I don't hear them.

I have depression due to suffering from PTSD for which I am receiving counselling.

You may be best advised to see your doctor and get professional help before it gets the better of you

Hope this helps

Being badly depressed when I was younger the feeling was one of pure overall pain starting in the pit of the stomouch and an awful feeling of despair coupled with no energy. Actually I would sit in my armchair for many hourse feeling absolutely exhausted with the thought that I hardly had strength to lift my arms. Fortunately this did not stop me praying to God and asking for help. I got the needed help and my depression lifted. It returns but never as bad as when I was between the ages 14-33.

It depends on how the depression is with you. Sometimes you feel spaced out and very tired and other times you just feel very sad and want to die but very active. send me a mail and we talk about it

Sometimes...it could be that theres something on your mind, something thats been bothering you deep down....If you have other symptoms, feeling low, feeling emotional then chances are u may be depressed.....Everyone gets depressed, but when it continues to occur every day then you need to seek help...

That's why you have depression, because you're not in the moment. Exactly: like you're not really awake.

WHAT YOU ARE DESCRIBING SOUNDS LIKE DISSOCIATING TO ME.WHY DONT YOU SEE A DOCTOR! TALKING ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM WITH A PROFESSIONAL WILL HELP I THINK. WHEN I GET DEPRESSED I FEEL LIKE CRYING A LOT, AND DONT SLEEP VERY WELL, OR TO MUCH, AND USUALLY EAT TO MUCH , WHEN I GET NERVOUS I DONT HAVE AN APPETITE, BUT EVER ONE HAS DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS IN DEPRESSION. YOUR SYTEMS SURE SOUND A LOT LIKE DISSOCIATING THOUGH.
