This has not only been true of todays world but for many 100's of years.. Comments?

Because the idea that Christianity hold s back scientific advance is wrong. The Christian Loves Science as it opens for them the wonder of the universe of God.
And Japan is far from the most technological advanced country in the world, the transistors was created here in the United States their tech is based on our ideas. And China is not the most economically advance nation, I give that to one of the Scandinavian Countries, or Canada, you know some place without horrible human rights violations. Nor could you call Canada, France or Great Britain Secular counties. last I checked the Queen was the head of the Church of England and France was Catholic. As to the US Being a Stupid Super Power, that is unfounded and untrue.
My God is an awesome God He created the Atom and the Adam.

One the answerers said "Japan - most technological advanced country in the World (Buddhism)" But Japan didn't come into the modern world without help from the West. Very little was actually invented in Japan. Ideas and products were taken there copied and mass produced. The real Progress for the last 300 years has been in the West.... Jim

Well, let's see. Copernicus was just pardoned by the Catholic church for his mid-16th century belief that the Earth revolved 'round the Sun & not hte other way around. That pardon came from John Paul II in 1999.
The dark ages (Science was pretty much shut down by Christian ideology).
Evolution - still debated and dismissed by many Christians
Then there's Stem Cell research - now being curtailed primarilly by Christians.
The number one reason parents home school their children is to keep them away from "scientific dogma" such as evolution.
Some Christians resist medical technology such as transfusions and transplants.
This is just a few highlights. The fact that these countries are industrialized is more due to resources available. They have grown technologically despite the efforts of Christianity.

"Yet you will notice in the world as a whole that its Countries that are predominantly Christian are the ones that are the most advanced."
I'd say possible but then you would have to negate the Japanese. Hard to do that given what they have contributed worldwide since world war two - and they are not a Christian nation. Then you have the Chinese both pre and post Mao. At present, they hold a third of the U.S.'s debt so I would highly advise that you don't piss them off! I could go on and on but I don't see the point. The exclusivity of your sanctified chauvinism makes me sick to my stomach.

It's funny. To me the question should be "Look how technologically advanced these nations are in spite of Christianity."
When you compare the US against, for example, Iraq, it is like comparing the health and well being of an individual with cancer against someone with HIV.
Sure the person with cancer might be able to complete a mile run quicker, but he still has cancer.
Religion has been and continues to act as a detriment to scientific advancement. Christianity might not be as oppressive as Islam, but it sure as hell isn't promoting science.

Untrue. Great Britian, France, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, are all secular countries. They are among most technologically advanced nations. The United States stands by itself as a stupid superpower. One that is dangerous to itself and its allies, one reason that other countries are maintaining their distance.
Furthermore, Islam was the greatest civilization of their time, they invented many useful items, created algebra, linear equations and much more.

The word of God is consistent with with the natural law of the universe. There is no disparity. Science has only ever proved that which is consistent with the word of God.
The belief that Christian faith is holding back technology and scientific advancement is true in part but due only to those who are Christian in name but fail to as study the fullness of his word as it is available. Men of all walks, and often those who profess to be Christian are regularly deceived because they are closed minded to not only the fullness of the gospel, but the promptings of the spirit as well.
God will reveal truth and technology through man as we are ready.

You will find, if you look closely, that for the most part it is not the Christians who are doing the advancing. And the reason is plain enough: the advancement results from science, where the notion of supernatural events is strictly prohibited. But any religion relies on the notion of supernatural events. You can't have it both ways.

That is a great observance......If you listen to the non believers in this forum you would think that Christians are uneducated idiots...yet, where ever Christianity is prominent, the people thrive....another thing to consider...if the founding fathers happened to be any other religion....take Islam for instance....do you think there would be religious freedom in this country now??......do you think you would be able to be an atheist today??....I doubt it...thank God that our founding fathers were Christians...

Could have a lot to do with how Christianity encourages discovery, innovation, free discussion, and personal choice.
No one is forced to believe, people believe because they want to. This whole forum is proof of that.
