Exedrin Migraine, but it's all timing, you've got to take it before that train leaves the station. Once it's a full-blown migraine, it isn't much help.

Ways to avoid them: Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Also, check your blood pressure. I used to get them pretty frequently, but I was suffering from high blood pressure. Now that I've got it under control, I practically never have them.

Good luck.

Have you tried the herb called Feverfew? It's available in any nature store and even some of the larger chain department stores. There are studies that show it's as effective as Imitrex for many migraine sufferers. Take one capsule, three times a day. Once you've been a month without a migraine, then back off to two capsules a day for a month and if still no headaches, then decrease to one capsule a day. If at any time you get a migraine, then you need to go back to the number of pills you were taking before the headaches came back (for example you just dropped to one pill and day and got a headache, then your maintenace dose is two a day). Give the herb a try, it can't hurt you and may well be the relief you need.

I have gotten migraines since I was in second grade and I'm 25 now. Excedrin is the only otc medicine that has ever helped. And I have tried everything. Excedrin and Excedrin Migraine are the exact same thing. It even states it on their website. So don't listen to the dosing directions on the Migraine bottle. It won't take it away once you already have a full blown migraine but it really helps ease the pain and shorten the time that you have it.

Hi Katydid,
I suffer from the occasional migraine and I have no found a product that actually combats prescribed drugs. It is called a super mini and I attach it to the portion of my head where the pain is coming from. I then lie down and I find within one hour the migraine is completelt gone.
