In one of my classes I have to give a powerpoint presantion in front of many people who don't even talk to me, as a matter of fact I don't think they like me at all. Some of them just stare at me like I owned them something and well its making me feel really unconfortable knowing that I have to speak in front of all of them. On top of all that I'm really shy, what should I do?

I've gone through the same thing but only I had to sit in front of my whole class and two teachers and recite a whole story that I made up. What I did and it still works to this day never look anyone directly in the eye look to the side or above their head. People think that they get nervous just having a bunch of people looking at them but truly they get nervous by looking at the people looking at them. You will do great~Good Luck

I used to be the same, although I wouldn't really say I was
shy, just abit self conscious, worried what others would think.
So just practice your presentation by yourself first, (and remember you can revise it as you go along if you wish)
then do it for a friend(s) family, in front of mirror, or even video tape yourself, to watch and review.. Good Luck

I suck at public speaking too!
volunteer to go first that way you don't compare yourself to other people presenting. keep in mind that no one but the teacher is really paying any attention. try to focus on just one person, like a friend or any one who is smiling. and practice saying out loud to yourself and anyone who will listen. the words will come out easier if you've said them a lot

Okay, I have a technique that I find works for me.

In all of us there are various facets to our personalities, different characters, if you will. For example, you probably show a slightly different personality to your mother, your sisters or brothers, your friends, your teachers, your employers.

In one sense you ARE different people - if you are Barbara for example, you may be Barb to your parents, Barbie to your girlfriends, Babs to your sister, Barbara to your employer.

Each of our names conjures up a different side to our personalities - when in the role of "Barbara" you might feel responsible, capable & confident. When you are "Barb" you might just feel like the regular you, when you are "Barbie" to your friends you might feel giggly and silly.

What you can do, is draw on the personality who is capable and confident - YOUR strong personality - have HER help you!

I hope this makes sense and doesn't make me sound like I have multiple personalities or anything (I don't) but there have been many times when I have had to draw upon the strong part of my personality when I have been in a tough situation.

You are strong, you are capable - you are going to do really well and be very proud of yourself!

Try practicing first with a friend or a family member. When you get up there just focus on doing your best to get the best grade possible. Who cares what everyone thinks about you?

I noticed ur name and realized the answer,
just ask what would jesus do? The other kids have to give a presentation too, so dont worry! Just relax, practice it in front of family! Be prepared, and don't worry.

I was painfully shy when I grew up, I know exactly how you feel. I see you are signed in as Jesus first. Ask Our Lord to take away the shyness, or help you with your crosses. If it is any consolation to you, you will grow out of it. Bye sweetie!
