You need a two conductor wire that is a small enough gauge to fit inside the cover that unscrews from the connector. Depending on what you are using the newly constructed cable for, you may need a two conductor wire that is shielded - an extra wrapping to prevent hum, buzz, or interference. You will most certainly need a soldering iron and be sure the two conductors do not touch when you screw the cover back on the plug. Heat shrink tubing is excellent for this application. Also, please use rosin core solder, not acid core.
Small gauge wire will come in two options, solid or stranded. Stranded is usually the smarter choice for any type of cable since it can flex with out as much chance of breaking, as could happen with a single solid conductor.
You should not have to go the .com route for these items, your local RadioShack normally will have these items in stock.
Happy connecting.

Well, depends what you want to do!
These are mono plugs, and you may need a soldering iron as well to solder your wire to the plugs. Any wire that fits inside the plugs should do.
