If you don't HAVE to have Excel, you might want to try OpenOffice.
It is similar to Microsoft Office and will write and save Office files.
The program is open sorce and its free.

Microsoft Excel is copyrighted software. I am not aware of ANY legal source for downloading it. You can download Excel compatible software that will do everything that Excel does including reading and writing excel spreadsheet files called OpenOffice from http://www.openoffice.org. It is legal, fast and free!

you can get a free trial of microsoft 2007 on their website, it is good for 90 days i think.
