why is he different around me at school?

so i like this guy from my school, hes really nice when i talk to him online, on the phone, or text. but at school he is realllllllly annoying, he pokes me, calls me short, where ever i am at school hes right there. like when i'm at the lunch tables he always at the next table. and hes shows off the whole time. but then when we aren't at school hes really calm and nice.. why is he like that?

It's what guys do to show they like you. Sadly, it lasts till late teens sometimes! I don't know why boys do it, maybe it's to hide they like you, or maybe it's to hide their uncomfort in your presence so they disguise it with irritating confidence that seems arrogant. He likes you. That's how to put it simply.

Remember girls are about 3 - 5 years ahead when it comes to maturity. The want you so they smother you then say really stupid stuff, especially with added pressure of other people around.

When you're alone ask him if he likes anyone in particular and watch him squirm or he'll lie but there are little signs like shiftiness in his eyes and him touching the back of his neck in uncomfort!

You learn to ignore it once you know why it is. Maybe you need to talk about it in private though. If you like him I suggest you ignore it but don't go completely cold with him - it's not his fault ( it's a common thing with boys, nothing to worry about and nothing out of the norm!).

He wants your attention, whether it's positive or negative. He just doesn't know how to act around you. School also puts pressure on him to not be a "nice guy".
