It is by faith we say we are made new. we are still in this sinful world and are ye tin our sinful flesh. It is God that makes the difference we submit ourselves to him and he makes the changes. I recommend Romans Chapter 6 it will definitely help you to understand these things God bless.

Start by reading Romans 7:15-25 through Romans 8:1-39. Before reading, ask God to illuminate your mind to receive from your inner spirit exactly what He wants you to receive from the reading, with regards to your dilemma. The fact that you are convicted by your behavior is evidence that God is with you, by His Holy Spirit. I believe that God is triune, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All are persons of the Godhead. The Father is on His throne, Jesus is seated beside Him, The Holy Spirit is now the agent in the earth who convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7-11). When you read Romans you will discover that the apostle Paul suffered the same dilemma that you are suffering, but that He realized self regulation was not the only thing necessary for deliverance from sinful tendencies; it is the power of God's grace, by His Spirit, that saves us. Your flesh (human nature) will never want to stop sinning. Your spirit (regenerated, if you're born again/saved/a believer) will always be at enmity with your flesh until you are ultimately delivered from your body and changed into your glorified body. This is the final phase of existence, as we know it, and the third and final stage of salvation. First: Justification, Second: Sanctification, Third: Glorification. You are in the second stage of salvation--sanctification. This is where the Holy Spirit works to cleanse you from your desire to sin (Psalms 51). It's His job and His pleasure. Your job is to yield to His leading/nudging/guidance. It's unfamiliar territory to the flesh. "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Therefore you have to submit your will to His will. Once you do that, He helps you in your weakness. The struggle is with your strong will. Let go and let God. It's like doing the dead man's float on the ocean. You're no match for the power of the water. Sooner or later you become tired of swimming/doggie paddling/struggling to stay afloat. But when you realize that all you have to do is lay back and float, and your nose will be above the water, then that place of rest brings you the peace and safety that you need. The water then becomes what bears you up and not what wears you out. It is then God's job and resposiblity to rescue you while you wait patiently. He will. It's a promise. He can't lie and will not forsake you. He's faithful. Trust Him. Do the dead man's float. Peace & Blessings!!

You just make up your mind to stop. The human will is stronger than you know. If you really had a problem with it like an alcholic you could just use the same 12 steps of the AA program. But I think that what you have to do is to make the decission to Just Do It. Once you know that you mean it, you will be different. Do it one day at a time. "Today I am a kind, gental person who is refined and loving." And you will not swear. If you thing of yourself as some rebellious brat that no one can tell you want to do, your words will be .. well .. like they are now. Pretent that you are the person that you want to be. "Fake it till you make it."

Hi there, it seems you have a conscience and a sense of self conviction. As far as the cursing goes, yes it degrades you character, but if you do, do not use curses that involve God or Jesus. Using the names of the creator to curse, is very wrong in their eyes. If you happen to, immediately apologize to God and remind yourself not to do it.
As far as the lieing goes, you'll just have muster the courage to face those things you're avoiding (when you lie).
The 'bad' things, and this includes the previous, keep in mind that you Will be held accountable for what you do. It also helps to ask yourself how you would feel if someone did it to you. You'll better understand how they feel.
I hope this helped and I know you're a good person. Good luck.

Hanna.. you have to develope a fear of God and his judgements..
For a true fearful experiance, take the worst sort of fear you have, be it snakes, worms, frogs, whatever makes you panic..
Now think about the power God has to throw you into it forever and ever.. That is hell and where your going if you don't stop..
Jesus says, in his house is many rooms, well the same goes for hell..
This is why we have these fears and what we will live with forever if we don't change our ways..
So every time you go to tell a lie or swear, think of your worse fear and it will help you stop before it is to late.. Jesus loves all of us the same.. He will pick you up if you fall.. Just ask him to help you and he will..
Good luck!!

People lie as a form of self preservation, to save their own skin, more or less. You didn't want to deal with the consequences of what would happen if you told the truth. Girl, you need to learn to deal, or just start making better choices...As for the swearing, we're also prone to say just about anything when we're feeling heated, in a moment of passion, you may very well confess how you truly feel about something...or someone.

If you so desire to stop, present your requests to God, for He cares for you. This is in His will that you cease foul language and living without truth. Since we know that it is in His will, if you pray, it shall be given to you, if you have faith. He acts upon our faith.
Christ died so that you might live. So that you can choose to put to death your shortcomings and have a new life, apart from the flesh, but rather of the Spirit.
God came to Earth in the form of a man, was perfect, and died a criminal's death. Death is here because we fall short, and thus we cannot live forever. Therefore, death could not have a hold on Him. He rose again, abolishing the laws of sin and death. Now, with Him, we can overcome our sins, and consequently overcome death. We are free from enslavement to depravity. If we truly desire and thirst for Him, Righteousness, we will have our fill. Those who accept Jesus as the Christ are inherited into the family of God. The children of God will overcome. God makes His home inside every believer. It is no longer they who live, but Christ in them. They are then able to receive a likeness of God--knowing both good and evil, yet being perfected. We can stand before God blameless and without fault, and dwell with Him forevermore in purity and glory.
Remember this hope, and let it purify you. Remain strong and resist temptations. Do not entertain the thoughts that come unexpected in your mind. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and and slow to wrath. Be sober-minded so that you can pray. May Christ, who died for you, be your peace.
Always trust in Him, and treat everything as a trial. This life is but a trial.
You will overcome, if you desire to, and if you have faith. Ask, and you will receive.

know first and foremost you're not in your problem, other Christians like myself and the Lord are with you. just make small change in what you listen to or watch. you may also need to make major changes like who you hang out with (till your walk is a more stable!) or spending extra time with God through prayer and reading your Bible. don't feel bad if you slip we all do and He loves us as we are and just wants us to be the best we can be. also feel good in the fact that you even see a problem that just means the Holy Spirit is working in your heart! Good luck and God bless!

Jesus is the Son of God, not the one God. Jesus' name is Yeshua, God the Fathers name is YHWH. There is a difference.
