Unlike those other people, i never give up, and unlike those other people, I've heard of something called compatibility mode. It forces the XP program your using to think it's running in XP instead of Vista (but it keeps your computer running Vista and doesn't downgrade your system to XP) there might be a wizard that configures the program to run in compatibility mode (but I'm not sure if it's in Vista, but i do know that it's in XP so it's likely to be in Vista if it was in XP) just use that wizard to configure and test the program that your using (it works for both installed, non-installed, and uninstalled programs) it might work for setup programs for the programs themselves and i know it works for programs themselves. e-mail me if it works, here's my e-mail address: zacy_dude@yahoo.com.au

So far, all my XP programs have went
onto Vista with no problem.
Also, you can right click on the desktop
and put the buttons back to where you're
used to seeing them.
Once you get "run" box back on the
start menu, type in "msconfig"
then select "selective start up" and you
can uncheck unwanted programs from
opening upon start-up.
All in all, I'm very happy with Vista.
I only miss the record button when I
right click on a "wav" file.

Depends on the program. Many will work, many will not. Look on the web to find out if anyone else is having any problems with your program on Vista.

like each new OS, what's going to artwork and what won't would be completely hit or miss. I even have many video games and classes that artwork on vista and that i even have some that may not artwork. there is not any rhyme or reason to it, you in basic terms could attempt it and notice.
