You may not automatically receive a voter registration card. To check to see if your registration is completed, call the city ir town clerk and ask if the information has been forwarded and recorded yet.

When you fill in the voter registration part of the form, that form must be processed first by the people who issue the state ID and then sent to the voter registration office. Then the voter registration office processes it. It takes a little longer because there is an extra step.
You can call your local voter registration office and check with them.

You can contact your County's board of elections to find out. There is a write-in ballot on election day. It depends on your state. If you don't receive the card within a month of registering call your county election board.
Some states have online databases of registered voters. Do a web search to see if your state does, then check to see if you're on the list.
Good luck.

Since the voter registration probably had to be forwarded to another agency, it make take two-three more weeks before you get it in the mail.

After the next election. Find out where your voter registration office is and go down every year to register. Then make sure you are on the list at least 6 weeks before the November elections. They really don't want you to vote so you have to be proactive about it. Your opinion really does count, they just don't want to hear it.
