I need to make a submarine that goes down, up, down, or floats, goes down, and goes up: each for ten seconds. I can't touch it while it is in the water. I can use alka-seltzer. Pleeese Help!!! Call all of your friends, call your science project, just figure this out for me!!!

Tyler, Im thirteen! This is a science project; i can use a film canister if I want! This isn't actually a submarine model!

Other Guy, I can't 'contaminate' the water; I can only use Alka-Seltzer!

While I have never build a model subarine, I have constructed several 1;96 scale model surface ships, including the USS Abbot (DD-629) and the USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73).

However, several members of my club have constructed fully functioning model submarines and are both members of Task Force 100, the club in which I am a member, and a model sub club known as the subcommittee.

The guys in this club should be more then willing to assist you with your problem and I have included the link to their site below.

get a plastic bottle. fill it a million/2 w/ water.then connect a balloon so as that as quickly as the balloon is in part filled then the submarine will go with the flow.a million)there is ur 1st floating requirement. then u want a cork to plug the bottle so u can pull it out by employing a string to make ur sub sink.it somewhat is step 2). then for step 3) detect a manner that u can feed air bak into the submarine. -i comprehend it somewhat is plenty in spite of if it form of feels the least perplexing, plus u'll get ec for creativity.

bicarbonate of soda. when placed in a cavity in an object made of plastic.. Reaction, object rises and falls ,when placed in water.
