The correct pronunciation is ha-leel jhi-bran (the jhi being pronounced as in the French pronunciation of gigolo).
The Westernized pronunciation is just as it's written - ca-leel gi-bran.
There used to be a video on this site... http://www.aaiusa.org/foundation/kahlil-gibran-awards in which you could hear the pronunciation but I couldn't find it. Look round the site for a video with Sting in it.
