i want to know because my ps3 had the 1.3 version and i what to buy a hdmi cable that works for both

Check out HDMI.org or the latest version. When it come time to purchase, check out monoprice.com for the best prices and quality I have been able to fine. If you are convinced you need a 1.3 cable, you might have to wait another month to get it from monoprice. The 1.3 spec was just established last summer and production runs are completing now. The cost of 1.3 are going to be more than 1.2a as the specifications were expanded.
I have not been able to get any other manufacture than Monoprice to identify their compliance to 1.2, 1.2a or 1.3, and that includes overpriced "MONSTER cables".

The cable is the same no matter what version of HDMI Samsung supports.
Outside of PS3 and Sony's Blu-Ray nobody else supports the new 1.3 features yet. but don't worry, they will work just fine for transferring video and audio.
