what are those brown spots?

i need to know for a science report. i grew 3 coffee plants normally and three with added carbon dioxide. The 3 with carbon dioxide had more brown spots. now i need to explain it. What caused the brown spots?

All kinds of things..... depending upon the leaf.... If it is a tree that sheds leaves in winter, it is a natural phenomonen of the tree dropping the leaf it no longer needs. Fungus will cause leaves to have brown spots, as will insects, and species specific parasites.... so, depends on the plant, time of year, and its infestation load.

Yeah it could basically be a lot of things. Insects dropping fecal mattter, a disease that the plant has, or if the plant is deciduous, then it's natural
