in 13 years old and i used to be blond but as i got older it turned into a nasty brownish grey color. i really want to be a red head and plan on dying my hair but i dont feel like im old enough to. im in 8th grade and going to high school next year. how old do you think i should be?

You're definitely old enough...I got highlights in the second month of fifth grade.

Usually for your first hair dye try matching it pretty close to what it already is, this way the upkeep won't be as hard. I suggest you go back to the blonde, this way when your hair starts to grow out it won't look as nasty.
Once you are fully commited to taking the time to touch up roots often, and get it redyed (this means having all that $ too) then I would go to a drastic change.
My advise:
-go blonde for the rest of this year to get used to the needs && then this summer before high school go that fabulous shade of red!!

my original hair color is a mahogany brown
it was ugly and my mom is a hair stylist and i first got my hair done in 4th grade
it's nothing special

you sound like you have my hair! the same happened to me, and my mom convinced me to get highlights when i was 12. it masked my gross natural color for a few years, and by the time i was 15 my natural color had become a medium reddish brown. so then i dyed it to match my new natural color!
so go ahead and do it- it's worth it =)

I think 13 is too young to dye your hair you should wait until you are 15, but use a semi permanent.

the average age when i was in school was about 7th or 8th grade, i think you're fine to go ahead and color it...

well i personalli u should wait until its needed like w/ gray hair...cuz it damages ur hair...even if its not permanet...
