What was Jesus coming down to save us from? Salvation from what?

Does that just mean God sacrificed himself to appease himself for us so that we wouldn't have to sacrifice animals for him anymore?

For it is by grace (God's unmerited favor) we have been saved,through faith.

He saved us from death in an eternal hell. We lost eternal life with God when Satan deceived Adam and Eve into disobeying God. All mankind became dead in sin because of Adam and Eve.

The very idea that God required his son to be sacrificed for our sins is ludicrous. What kind of God requires us to sacrifice another to pay for our own personal transgressions? Jesus came to save us from our sin. For we have all fallen short of God's standard! He paid the price for your sin and mine, and took the punishment which we deserved, when He died on the cross of Calvary.

Your right, no more sacrifices need to be made, because Jesus, God's perfect Son, the Holy spotless Son of God, became the sacrifice once and for all!
