depends on how old you are. i have no idea so let me cover all my bases.

12-14 wait till your 16 and can clearly get a view of (some) of the people that are out there. even then you are very very limited.

15-17 date!!! you date to see what you want in a person so you can tell your likes from dislikes that way when you go to college it can be more serious.

18-up your a free women. get out there when your ready and take a chance cause if you dont then time might fly by! even if you ive with your parents still. you have the right. your an adult and explain to them that you want to date and why.

GOOD LUCK!

Seems to me culture is an big element in your situation here. You mentioned that your parents don't speak English, this leads me to believe that your parents immigrated.
If this is the case it will be difficult to give you the advice you seek. Only you will know what cultural considerations are relevant to your situation.
If you are 18 or older I would try to explain that you are a grown adult living in America, and while you wish to honor their cultural traditions and their wishes, they also must realize that your wishes are important and like it or not you have the ability to make your own decisions regarding dating.
However, if your not yet 18 and living in their home, I would respect their wishes for now knowing that at 18 you can do as you please. Yes I realize this may not be what you want to hear but you need to balance your desire to date with keeping peace at home.
There will be plenty of time for you to date when you are on your own, and by then you will be more mature and better prepared to deal with the complexity's of dating from an emotional perspective

You didn't mention your age, which is important to consider. If you are under the age of 18 and living with your parents, you need to respect them. After 18 and moving out then you can do whatever you want. You mentioned that it is hard to talk to your parents about it, this indicates immaturity to me. They may have valid reasons for it-communicate!

If you don't like to talk about it then write her a letter and put it somewhere she'll find it, but not out in the open, like in her purse. write about how mature you are and how it makes you feel like she doesn't trust you. give her a list of reasons why you should be alowed to date and tell her to write you back. good luck.
