How large does a basement window need to be for a bedroom to be considered conforming?

Needs to be a certified egress window. Check with your local Building dept for your city's code. In this area it's 6.0 sf, but in other towns in the area it's a little smaller. Since you will want the benefit of adding it as a conforming bedroom, it's best to find out for sure what's code in your town before you install it.
