Because according to christians the earth began when god created it 6,000 years ago. According to this theory dinosaurs are just a clever hoax lol. They think that if they were to believe in evolution they would somehow be denouncing god I guess. I would also like to add that a theory is a hypothesis that has been proven by the entire scientific community. Gravity is also a theory I'd like to see people disprove that lol.

Very good question. I suppose it is because in a forum of learning and allowing a young mind to form their own decisions based on the information they are provided with, such as is a school, evolution is taught as the only explanation for the existenc of life. I don't believe its solely being against the teaching of evolution as it is being against the refusal or prohibition of the teaching of intelligent design, let alone creation. You state the Bible is not proof of anything. Well, last time I checked, evolution is still a 'theory' and therefore the same as intelligent design based on a scientific defenition. I believe both should be taught and let the evidence allow the student to 'make up' their own mind. Also, you may want to look a little more into the scientific, acheological, and phrophetical(mathematical probability) evidence for what the Bible teaches. You would be surprised at what proof it does offer in contrast to what you may assume to be proof at face value.

Some people deny this fact. Christians do not believe in evolution and this also confuses me as to why they cannot teach it because isn't religion and the government (schools) supposed to be separated from each other? If a parent doesn't want their child to learn about evolution then the teacher should be able to find an alternative assignment instead of the School Board of Education denying these teachings to the rest of the population.
I was lucky enough that in my Anatomy and Physiology class my teacher didn't really care and still taught it to us. I live in Kansas so getting taught evolution was hard enough. Thankfully my teacher understood that we were all mature about the topic and actually wanted to learn about it no matter what our religion was. It's all rather silly when you look at it.

i don't think anyone is against teaching evolution in school. Some are against teaching ONLY evolution as though it is the definite way that life began. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, and as you do more investigation, you'll find that many in the scientific community will agree with that. Another thought, even if evolution as it is taught is correct, that still doesn't answer where/how the matter came into being that was used to begin the process.

Because evolution did not start the life process is why it shouldn`t be taught , and it is not a fact ! During all of recorded human history there has never been a substaniated case of a living thing being produced from anything other than another living thing !! Materialist are sadly mistaken to claim that all living things " evolved " into existence from " nothing " , when man`s own science has yet to this day , discovered how to even create one protein molecule that could actually have come into existence by any " known natural process " !! How can something start from nothing , and produce anything that would sustain something as complicated as a human life ??? Matter cannot create itself , and neither can " knowledge " be formed from nothing , and disorder cannot create order !! Nothing that mans`science knows can produce a DNA molecule , evolution can`t , man can`t , only DNA can produce DNA , and DNA is God`s blueprint for human life !!

Darwinism has a lot of problems with it lot of holes that havnt been filled in with.
Until then it's not really a fact right now it's a theory which is kind of like say "this is what may have happened until we get more evidance"
The church and evolution have been butting heads from the very start in fact darwin was very religious both his father and grandfather were men of the "cloth"
at the time darwin produced his work, the thought was that the earth was only 4004 years old. One member of the church had it down (by counting days and generations in the bible that the earth was created on the 23 oct at 9:00am (insane hu, people believed this)
the theory of god and the theory of evolution just dont work together. We cant come from god in his image and from monkeys...unless god is a monkey
if your interested in really learning about this take anthopology(study of the human species)

I don't have a problem teaching evolution as a theory. If it were a scientific fact, then any scientist would be able to look at the data and form the same conclusions.
As it stands, there is conclusive evidence of microevolution (a horse is still a horse). But, there is not conclusive evidence of Macroevolution (Ape becomes human).
To say there is facts and evidence is contrary to the principles of science.
If you can cite the link between men and ape (100% genetic link, etc...), show it and you will make me eat my words. But if you can not, then you can not say it is fact.

People resent the teaching of evolution because it goes against their religious beliefs. History is different in that we have recorded facts of what happened. For evolution, one has to accept what a load of scientific proof suggests, while lacking the more tangible evidence of eye witness/documentation.

Maybe because evolution is a theory filled with holes that scientists today are still trying to prove. Even parts of evolution that were considered
"fact" have been disproven or shown to be a hoax which presents more pieces that still have to be filled in.
And this may come as a suprise to you, but some people do not believe in evolution, therefore, they
do not condone teaching it in schools.

"Evolution is a fact" is an opinion. You have no more proof of evolution than Christians have in God or Jesus. The point is faith. The Creation is God's work. Evolution was nature's, I did a term paper in college and received alot of attention. I believe both are true. God made the earth, the planets and the stars. He walked upon the earth and made the oceans and hills and valley's. He made man because he was lonely and made woman because he knew man would need a lot of help

Evolution has always been a controversial issue because mainly of the catholics from way back in early ages. But the reason is that they tried to at one point and some religious person went and complained saying that it was teaching against gods lessons. So basically they do that so people wont go crazy about them teaching it. If you wanna learn it do your own independent study.
