There is no place better to be in the world than at the drag strip. I go every weekend with my Dad. Our car goes 8.40's @ 160 mph. (oh yes,it's all MOTOR...no "bottles" need here!) It's so exciting seeing all the different cars. The smell of the burn outs and burning fuel and watching the "bottle baby's" purge the NOS out of the hood and when the crowd gasps every time. How can you not love the big wheelies, when the cars are almost on the verge of being out of control. How about the drama when someone hits a wall or the motor blows? The best for me is when I take my dad into the burn box and everyone runs for a spot on the fence to watch the car go down the track. The high of never knowing what could happen at any time and how cool it feels when you beat the guy next to you by .001 of a second..... I am ready for the 2007 season of racing!Good luck to all you racers out there!
.....and the very best for me is being a girl that can tell most of the guys at the track how to make there cars go faster!

All you couch potato race fans need to find your closest drag strip and go out on a test 'n tune night. Rent a decent car or bring your own and try your own hand at drag racing. It's easy to do, but hard to be good at. The closest strip to my house is only 1/8th mile, but it's still a ton of fun. Even running a 9 second 1/8th mile is not easy to do consistently. Drag racing is the most inexpensive form of motorsports. My car has about $1500 tied up in it and it's not real fast, but I can still pull a holeshot on that guy in the other lane in his full blown race car. That's too much fun!

Yes - looking forward to attending next weekend's Winternationals at Pomona. Unfortunately, the TV broadcasts just doesn't do it justice, and is highly critized by the 'roundy-round' crowd. Myself, I AM A RACE FAN, each and every type of racing has it's own unique glamour and style, and I appreciate such. People who tell me they don't like Drag Racing, have NEVER been to a Drag Race! The sounds are incredible! In the past 40 years, I've heard the high-pitched scream of Formula One in downtown Long Beach, the raw deep-throated V-8's in NASCAR at Ontario - Riverside - Sears Point - Fontana, the smoothe sounding turbo-charged Offy & Cosworths in Champ Car at Ontario - Phoenix - Long Beach, the back-firing engines of Sprint Cars as they lift going into turn one at Ascot, the defining whine of the turbine Unlimited Hydros at Mission Bay, and even a 500 mph P-51 Mustang coming at you 100 feet off the deck at Reno. But NOTHING......NOTHING sounds like a 8000 HP nitro-burning engine being warmed up in the pits. You just have to be there. Truly AWESOME!!

You should go to at least one drag race, It's sick ! What blew my mind is how anyone can drive these rockets, I like the finish line, the shock wave blasts you, then you hear the roar as a blur goes by, they are "Blurry" looking when they go 335 Mph. your clothes shake when the tree turns green and the throttles get stomped, when it gets dark out it's even cooler with 12 foot flames shooting out of the eight pipes underneath the cars.... AWESOME !
