Not true at all. They're excellent together! I cook baby spinach with tomatoes, garlic, and shrimp. I pour over some cheesy grits, and voila! Divine food!

Take care!

Urban myth, old wives tale or tommy rot. However, I don't think that cooking tomato and spinach together is a good idea simply because they cook differently. I'm sure that spinach cooks up faster than tomato but I'm not a chef and all my cooking experts are away for the weekend.

I have never heard of the problems occurring that you mention in your question. I often cook spinach and tomatoes together and that combo is found in many recipes, including even pizza topped with spinach. I eat a tomato every day, and have never had kidney stones. You could check with a nutritionist but I'm sure the answer will be that spinach and tomatoes can be eaten together.

Not true. Where did you ever hear such a thing? Tomatoes are high in acid. I would think they would be more apt to break up any stones in your kidneys than create them. Consider it an urban myth.

I've never heard that. I use spinach in my lasagna and my spaghetti sauces all the time.
