Webtv still has over a million users. Provided the box lights up when plugged in – should still function. Be sure to get a keyboard and remote. You will need both.

Webtv unlimited service costs about $24 a month. Webtv offers programs for as little as $15 a month. There are less expensive ways to get Webtv unlimited service (your own ISP) - you should begin with the webtv service until your comfortable with the internet.

Yes you must have a phone line. The newer MSNTV2 can be connected to broadband. If the receivers are web-plus then they run 24.00 a month. If not a plus it cost 21.95 month.
