The best thing to do is talk to other owners of the same breed or experiment. Ours will eat just about any puppy food but won't eat snacks. lol Dogs are individuals just like we are. It may take you a week or a little longer to discover what he'll eat and wont. Sometimes when you first bring them home you may have to mix ground beef (cooked) with a little banana baby food to get them to eat anything at all. Once they are used to you, you should have no trouble at all getting them to eat.

:) First of all, it's chihuahua (chi-hua-hua). I've had 5 chi's and they LOVE little, tiny squeeky toys, something that will fit in their little mouths. I have always fed mine "Iams" dry food. Even though it's more expensive to intially buy, it lasts longer and you have less poop. If you get cheap, junky puppy food there's more fillers in the food and they just get fatter and has more stinkier poop - YUK! Don't use wet food either cuz it gives them the 'runs'. Don't let them bite or chew on your fingers either cuz then they will think it's OK to bite people as though it was for play. If they do bite and think it's a game then you can break them of it right away. I use an emply soda can filled with a few coins and tape the opening. Every time they bite say "no bite" and shake the can which will definetly get their attention! It will stop them every time and you and others can pet them without them chewing on fingers. Hope this help... :)

Your CHIHUAHUA will like to go for walks, snuggle in your lap, and play. Your CHIHUAHUA will eat probably any type of DOG FOOD you put out for him.

I TOO OWN ONE AND HAVE HAD OTHERS IN THE PAST TILL THEIR TIME OF DEATH, THIS BREED OF DOG ONLY WANTS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY AND BE YOUR PROTECTOR AND BEST FRIEND AND AS FAR AS THE KIND OF FOOD, DEPENDING ON THE AGE, TRY HIM WITH DIFFERENT KINDS SLOWLY UNTIL YOU NOTICE WHICH HE PREFERS.
