No, i don't. i believe that he gave me some abilities to use them and i have free will to control myself and behave. ofcourse i ask him for help, but not in details. i mostly 'trust' him and know that he'll be with me(when i'm doing something good).

A good first response is that you must be on that same level as the desire for which you are praying...
You can pray or petition for some desire, but you must be on an equal level to receive it. Certain preparations must be made and merit achieved.
Second, the prayer may already have been fulfilled but is in, say, a staging or holding pattern, see? We live here where the very essence of the vibrational frequency itself is coarse in comparison to the plane from which the answered prayer originates...
There is a time-space lapse, because substances here are so coarse, so gnarly. Things move slowly here whereas in the Upper Worlds, or Heavens, life is lucid and at once ! So things take time to arrive here, is all. Here's where patience comes in.
Without people knowing it, they do have some seeming insight into the existence of this lapse I speak about here and is why the maxim of "Patience is a virtue" is so widely used and believed true. Things just take time.
But remember, when you pray or petition for something, you must always follow with some action, of some sort, something to which you are giving to the Universe yourself, see?
God does not run a spiritual welfare program.
Third, the prayer may not be fulfilled if to fulfill it will cause certain obstruction or harm to your learning and development or life and well-being.
Thus, the truth is that that apparent unfulfillment is in reality a fullfilment, but is above your understanding to see it and understand it.
In this regard, your prayers will not be answered no matter how much you pray.
Fourth, you may have been answered, but you may not be listening to Its Voice. IT is not bidden and none can dictate to IT.
Fifth, you may simply be undergoing training of some sort, a part of which is being without certain desires -- a trial and test, in other words. In this event, IT is waiting upon you to fulfill ITs desire! See?

You don't.
God is not a magical charm box into which one inserts prayers. The Bible book of Hosea is big about this.
Jesus in the Garden before his arrest and crucifixion asked God to remove the coming pain - if possible, but above all else, that God's will be done.
Ouch.
God's will isn't always our will, nor his kingdom ours. The idea of God though is that God's will and Kingdom are larger and filled w/ more blessings that our will/kingdom could ever be.
Thus, I have brain surgery this Friday. I would love to pray that it just disappear. I know and believe however that a far more powerful prayer is for God's will be done - life or death.

yes I do agree that at times God doesn't answer our prayers no matter how much we pray but it doesn't mean that he doesn't hear. there are three ways in which i think God answers prayers
green, yes that's when a prayer is answered
amber, wait that's when you pray for ages and eventually get an answer (it can be what you did or didn't expect)
red, no that's when all you prayers are in vain.
the good thing is we always think that our heart's desires make us happy but that actually is not true. what must really make you happy is that God loves you no matter how many times you sin.

When God grants people all the desires of their hearts, it often turns out to be a curse.
First you pray for wisdom.
Then you see if your heart still desires what you think it does.

Yes, when I was a new convert, but as my faith matured I learned how to ask for the things God would give. I used to ask God to make me win in the lottery. James 4,3 says, "You pray for something and you do not get it because you pray with the wrong motive of indulging your pleasures." God answers all our prayers in a way that is best for us.
Have a blessed day

God always answers prayer, but sometimes the answer is no.He knows what is best for us even better than we ever could. If our prayers are for anything which would be detrimental to us in any way-spiritual,mental physical-He will not grant the request for our own good. If our lives and our prayers are not in tune with God's Word and His will then our requests will not be granted. If there is unconfessed sin in our lives than our prayers are prevented from reaching Him. If our prayers are made without faith in Him and His Word than think not that you will receive anything from the Lord. First, ensure that your relationship with God through Jesus Christ is where it needs to be.Second, ensure you know God's Word and that you believe everything which it says.Third, confess all sin to God and seek His forgiveness.Fourth, ensure you are praying according to God's will and then believe He will give what you ask. Prayer is our means of communicating with our Creator through His Son Jesus Christ, by the power and ability of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is more than our list of demands to God. Spend time with Him. Have an actual relationship with Him.This is what He most desires from us. Remember, God knows us better than we know ourselves and He always knows what is best for us-even when we don't.

I think I know what you are talking about in the question. I suspect that we view prayer as a 'mechanical' thing. We pray; God answers immediately. Sometimes we have to wait a bit! Sometimes the short term to us looks good; but the long term yields bad things for us. (Is that how sin/temptation works usually)?

Yes I do sometimes feel that. but I know that what I feel is just because of frustration. God ALWAYS answers us, in the best way for us. We are his children, and he loves us no matter what. My need only be true when we pray.

god knows your true heart desire and although at times you are sure you may want something god knows it isn't going to be good for you and so if you didn't get what you asked for be thanful to him, sometimes the best answer from god is no answer at all.
