I mean, I have given flowers to girls I like but personaly I find it like something not very practical. Well flowers are pretty but they die in a few days, so it's not even something with much of a decorative or memory value. So do you really like them that much or would you prefer something else as a gift?

I am a girl and I don't really like flowers but I think that a guy giving flowers to a girl has been a part of the way that things go between a man and a woman for a long time. it's just something to be expected.

When I was in my teens and early twenties, I'd have agreed with you that flowers are lame, a waste of money and die in three days. Mind you I was also pretty poor and to spend 20 bucks on something that wouldn't last was unheard of!
Now that I'm older, I've developed a much broader appreciation for nature, I have more money and I have to say that flowers are a true luxury. When I have them in my house or see them in a garden I cannot keep my eyes off of them! And of course, I love the smell. Flowers may not last but they feed the soul when they're alive.

Apparently we do, but I suggest you take them a little potted plant and let them take care of it...say you hope your love will grow and bloom like this potted plant here lol..because if you take them cut flowers, they'll throw it out after a few days and i think thats such a waste of plant life...its more an expression of love, giving flowers, its the thought that counts.....so if you mean well and give a single flower you picked on the way to meeting whoever you're meeting...it would be very appreciated...oh alright! I would appreciate that, I dont know about others lol

well, flowers are nice because if you give a girl a flower, it shows that you care for her, any other gift would be alright, but flowers are always seen as something that a person would give another in a relationship. if you don't want to give flowers, then choose something else, something that will show her that you care.

Well, it depends on the flowers. My ex-boyfriend gave me a dozen yellow roses once, and it was absolutely memorable. They were gorgeous. But otherwise, I prefer doing something together. Buying me stuff isn't as cool as going to my favorite restaurant or a night of intimacy.

I can see where are coming from though. My boyfriend doesn't see the point of them because they just die after a few days, and what's romantic about that?

I'd prefer flowers if they were something unique. I don't see anything special about red roses. My mom doesn't like getting roses; she prefers carnations, and that's exactly what my dad gets her. Personally, if someone bought me one sunflower, I'd be happy.

Depends on the girl. Personally I love flowers. One time when we were dating my husband bought me a little statue of two wolves cuddled together. He said it reminded him of us. I stilll have it many years later and it stil brings a smile to my face each time I look at it. The point is, flowers are nice once in a while, but a gift from the heart will be cherished for years to come.

I love flowers but they are impersonal. get a girl her favorite flowers AND something personal too like a CD of her favorite songs, or something you know she's wanted for a long time.
