When every waking moment is spent thinking of that person it's not love it's obsession.

Nope! You be you. There should be three response expected before you do any thing.
A positive response
A negative response
No response at all
If you are o.k with any of these then proceed as you would.
If you are not o.k. with any one of these responses then do not do that thing such as you do to show love.
You got to always be yourself no matter what the other persons response is. That way when you decide that you are not being reciprocated or you feel you are done, you know that you have done all you can do and you walk away clean.
so you can never love too much-you can only love as you know how.

My mum always said to me "It is easy to love someone who loves you back as it is too love someone who doesn't. WHy would you waste your time on someone who doesn't?" What she meant was that we have a lot of controll over our own emotions, and actions. So no, I think if you love someone too much, its because subconciously you are addicted to the drama of the relationship - but not actually the person.

I think if you feel that you love someone too much, there is something within you that you are trying to fulfill through that person. I believe that it is very possible to lose yourself in someone. Doing only what they want to do, letting them make all the choices, living your life for them. Don't do it. Be yourself, if they love you for who you are, then you are in a good place. If you always compromise for them, you are bound to get hurt.

I think so. If ones human nature gets warped and love turns to an ugly obession i think you can love somebody too much.

Yes. For example you can love and protect a child so much he cannot grow up and take responsibility for himself. You can love an addict and enable him to continue drinking or using drugs.

Yes you can. I don't know as if it's a bad thing but it certainly can make your life interesting... or really, really complicated.
Let the confusion come!

No, unless it's a selfishly jealous love, in which you care more about them being with you than their happiness, and would rather hurt them than lose them.
