16

That was the rule for me. But I think how you handle the rule has much to do with how well it works. My parents weren't strict, and I could talk to my mom about almost anything.

I was trying so hard to be one of the few who hadn't thrown away her virginity that I had no problem waiting till I was 16 to date. I had realized that most of the guys my age seemed to be after one thing, and as I was waiting till marriage I didn't want to put myself in such a situation. I guess those evangelical values did some good. =-)

I would say 15 or 16
its okay for them to go to the movies with a boy around like 13 but if they actually want to do continuous dates, 15 or 16

Around 15. Old enough, hopefully, for her to start thinking a little more maturely, but still young enough to have a good time with it- get her prepared for the real world, or something like that. However, it would also depend on her personality- if she's mature enough to handle it at 13, I'd let her, but only if I knew she was ready. Likewise for 17. :)

I don't have a daughter, but love only comes a few times in a life time (and yes, I've quoted this to many people) and keeping her away from someone she loves is horrible.

(but first meet her boyfriend, because if he's a danger, make it like 16, or more, let her get over that guy........)
