My husband thought of the name
Odin Scott for our son, and I really like it, we wanted something different. Has anyone ever heard of a child or adult with the name Odin? I really do like it though, so I think we will use it, I just want to know if it is common or never been heard of.
Thanks

I really didn't care to hear that you hated it or that it was great for a dog, I just wanted to know if you had ever heard of anyone named this before, besides a fictional God of war. Thank you for all of the nice people out there who were actually kind.
Sometimes I wonder about the rest fo you though.

I believe that the Nordic meaning of Odin has to do with inspiration and leading, so it would be a beautiful legacy to give your son.
It is unusual but I like it very much.
I hope what ever you decide to name him he is happy and healthy.

Worked in education for over 30 years, never came across on Odin, might find a few in Norway, but its unusual and with a history so great choice.....are you sure its going to be a boy? What would you call a girl? Not Freya, too common now, how about Aphrodite or Athena

Never heard of an Odin. I myself am prego ! :) My bf wants to name him Preston. (We don't know if we're having a boy or a girl.) I don't know what your last initial is, but try not to make the initials spell anything negative...I've thought a name for a girl but the initials are NARS...which reminds me of Sars... So I don't know bout that name... Wouldn't want her classmates to ask her if she has sars !!! :( I found out Wed morning that I'm prego :) Congrats !!! :) Btw, I think that Scott Odin would sound like a nicer name :) Hopefully your last name doesn't start w/ B tho... Also, I think that Odin sounds too much like Odie... He'd prob get teased. But if you really want Odin...well, hopefully he's not called Odie in skewl. Good luck :)

I have never heard of a person named Odin. I think that would be a perfect name for your son. Congratulations on becoming a new mother.

I've never heard of a child in England given this name, but there again not many people would many their child after a god of war, especially not at the moment. Good luck. At the end of the day it it's your child you call it what you both like, but please remember the child will have its name for life.
