I think we'll have over 100,000 troops there for at least 5 more years and that we will keep a military base with troops there for at least 50 years (or until the American Empire falls)

Well, the ceasefire in the Korean War was signed in 1953, and the US "still maintains a heavy military presence in Korea". So could be another half a century after the end of the civil war that was begun when the US invaded Iraq and removed the existing power structures.

WHOA now, think about what your saying you just said "Iraq" well what about the guys in Afghanistan also? Dont forget we got troops all over the Middle East.
We will always be there, because well the government is up to something there, and we wont pull out till we get what we want. Makes me feel safer that they are over there taken care of business so we can have our "Rights" as people. Rather than be enslaved and killed.

bush said they will remain there until 2010. but he is not going to be president that long so i don't know but since bush is starting another war with iran and there will be a civil war some more troops will be needed for iran. and then a nuclear war will begin and US has NUCS and iran has NUCS. so i think the world can end before the May 2032 99.9% asteroid hit on earth.

I know for an exact fact that the troops will be in Iraq right up until they leave.

Well, it would depends if the left continues the "Cut and Run" mantra, then maybe sooner than you think. But then we will have to be back in the region as instability and chaos reins and the US security is threatened again.
