Because of her being shy, she doesnt communicate to alot of people & People tend to think she is stuck up for that reason. They dont take the time to get to know & find out that she really isnt stuck up, she's only shy! I know first hand what this is like. Shy people are not stuck up. They are just shy. Give them some time & they will come around.

That is simply because so many closed minded people are intimidated by beautiful women. It is not hard to conversate with someone if you feel that you are better than them but if someone seems that they have it together people dont know what to say to them so they just call them stuck up. Women are so critical of each other it is ridiculous. Majority of the time it is just pure jealousy which is crazy because everyone has some type of beauty about them so why waste time being jealous or putting down the next person. It also depends on how you present yourself because you can be shy but still inviting. If you are coming across as stuck up then you may want to reexamine what it is you do that makes people uncomfortable if nothing than it is just what i said before

I have often had to suffer with the same perception I am told that I am very attractive but yet shy and quiet and have trouble "fitting in" and people often think of me a stuck up just because I don't shout and swear or voice my opinion I like to keep myself to myself but I put this down to lack of confidence.
It annoys me that people are so judgemental instead of taking me as I am trying to change me by telling me to get drunk because I am allot funnier when I am drunk when I am out or poking fun at me just because I am so shy.
I think perhaps because I often walk with my head down instead of facing people in front of me that people perhaps either don't notice that I am there or I am in my own world and don't want to be noticed and perhaps that is why no new people talk to me.

It's sad isn't it. In my younger days I was always being accused of being stuck up and unsociable, only when people got to know me did through college or work did they discover that it was just shyness.
Fortunately, I am at an age now when it doesn't bother me, but it 's tough and sometimes hurtful when you're younger.
I can see that seems a bit vain, it's not meant to be.

When i first met my husbands family, I heard his aunty saying that I was stuck up. Im just quiet, she has changed her mind since, we've been together 15 years now. I am still very quiet around people I don't really know though.
