I see many have answered your question, however a little relativity. If you are as you wrote, wanting to join the Mil. Really bad, I suggest you take the time and loose the weight prior to enlisting. If you are over weight, you are out of shape. You will be humiliated to the point you may not be able to handle it.
Do yourself good, flag me if you will. I went through the AF boot camp in 1959. Three days after graduating from HS. I was 16, my mother had to sign me in. I weighed 135 lbs at 5'-8". There were two guys in my flight of 81 who were overweight. One was let out on a medical as he broke under the pressure and taunting of the Trainers. One lost 50 pounds and went on into the regular AF. I by the way gained 20 lbs and left basic at 155.
What you should focus on is being physically and mentally ready for a drastic change in your life. Dealing with one is difficult, however dealing with two major problems is extremely difficult.
By the way, how i/was your grades in school. Being a little bias in my thinking, the AF is the best of the four. Grin.
Go for it. You will truly become an adult when you are discharged. There are more benefits available today than ever before. I loved the AF. Put my foot in many nations in the world. Went around the world 18 times.
Another cue. Loose the chip. cuz you will become flagged. [[[[Smile]]]]

NAVY. And, no pun intended I was in and for those overweight and there were several and are known as the FBI Fat Boys Incorporated.
You will lose weight and is the best branch to join. Also, you will be safe on a ship provided it is not on that inferior steel ship USS New York which will be sunk when it catches on fire for the first time.

Ask a lot of questions. Be polite and respectful, the recruiters are there to help you. As far as the Navy vs Army, it depends on what you want to do for your military career! Its all up to you good luck! Congrats on the weight loss, if you were looking to lose more id join a fight gym (MMA Muay Thai) they will shave that extra mass off in no time trust me!

Try to lose weight before you decide what branch you want to go to.
And maybe try to become in the medical field or the computer field, as it may be better if you are overweight.
As for branches, I'm not too sure which one would be best. They all have their benefits.

Congrats on deciding to enlist. The Branch that you chose is immaterial in that all of them will assist you in losing weight. Pick the Branch that you want to enlist in. As has been stated already. Cut back on the sweets and start exercising now. You need to work on cardio. Drink lots of water and limit your carb intake. Proper Diet and plenty of exercise = weight lose. Good Luck !!!

Start exercising & cuttin back on your calorie intake. Do the running, sit ups, push ups & etc. By gettin a start now, it will help you during boot camp. Also you will loose alot of the weight during boot camp too because you will be doing alot of training & exercising, so you should do just fine.
Good Luck!

We need to be honest here. how badly do you want to serve. It is unlikely that any recruiter is going to have time to go and work out with you. They don't have that luxury. Its on you brother. You are going to have to start to workout, cut your calories, and begin running. There is no simple way here. Sleep on it and ask yourself some serious questions. Is this really what you want to do. What price are you willing to pay to achieve success? I wish you the best and hope you make it!

it depends Marines i know for a fact will allow you to enter the dep if you are slightly over weight. they were able to have me lose 10 pounds before bootcamp. Its tough and you may hate your recruiters for a little while but they help you out a lot.
