Not MALARIA,,,,but AIDS, that is why you cannot donate. Aids can lay dormant or undetectable for a long time. Should you donate you can pass it on and never know it.
I am a long term blood donor and go through that massive list of questions every time and they always cover whether you have been in Europe (Mad cow disease) and Africa (the highest Aids infected continent in the world) It covers all of Africa.
This would be the reason.
