Jesus was the first person to call a dog "Spot", I think it is in the book of Revelations.

Definately wouldn't have been Judas since a dog is mans best friend so I suppose it would have been Peter in this case.

We know he had a sense of humor when it came to nicknames. He called Simon "Rocky" and the Zebedee brothers "Thunder Twins" (roughly translated).

I dunno, maybe something to the equivalent of Sparky. :-D
The Prophet Muhammad (saws) had a cat named Muezza. I'm not sure of the meaning of the name, but pretty nonetheless. There's a story that once he had to go pray, but Muezza was sleeping in his sleeve. He didn't want to disturb her so he cut off his sleeve and left her sleeping to go pray.

Since a dog is man's best friend, he'd probably call it Buddy Christ.
