Don't let his liking you influence you. Don't tell him you like him because you feel bad for him-- pity-love is about 1000 times worse than an outright but honest "no." Wait it out for a week or so, and figure out how you feel about him by yourself. Tell him you need some time to sort out your feelings. Don't let others tell you you'd look cute together, or that he's a total geek and you should run away in the opposite direction. Once you figure out how you feel, let him know. Be honest. Say, "I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same way about you." or "You know what, I like you too." Just, whatever you do, do it by yourself.
