I have a question about zoloft, I'm on my 3rd day now taking 50mg doses a day. I've noticed my pupils are huge and I've been feeling kind of dizzy and noticeably weaker. Has anyone else on zoloft experienced the enlarged pupils and it's not something I should worry over?

That is common with Zoloft. It will pass. If you continue to have unpleasant side effects, talk to your doc. Headaches sometimes go along with the dilated pupils and dizziness from the people I've talked to.

I am on Sertraline (Zoloft) now and have been for several years. I never thought to check my eyes when I first started but do not have large pupils now. I can detect no other side effects. I went off the med cold turkey for a while last spring and noticed a definite apprehension like feeling in my mind but nothing else. I got back on them after being off for several months again with no discernible side effects. The medication seems to work for me. I hope this helps you. Peace and love.

Hi, anytime that you start a new antidepressent there is the chance that you will have feeling of being unwell for the first few weeks, but they DO GO AWAY! Call and ask the doc about your symptoms, but don't just give up on the medication. Also, know that not every one of these medications work for everyone. You may have to try two or three to find the right one. Also, your dosage may need to be increased at some point. I guess I am just saying, don't give up on finding the right dosage and medication until you feel better. You can feel better and you truly can get well again. There is hope. Hang in there.

The most common side effects (nausea, diarrhea, sleepiness) don't haveanything to do with big pupils or dizziness. I would call your pharmacist and the prescribing doc about your unusual symptoms. Englarged pupils is something I would have checked out.
I listed the zoloft site for your info.

This is probably your body getting used to the Zoloft. I'm surprised your doctor started you out on 50 mg. I've been on it 2 different times and both times I took 25 mg. for a week and worked up to 50 mg. If you are concerned call your doctor's office or pharmacy and ask if that's unusual. It usually takes a couple of weeks or so to adjust to the medicine. Another person listed zoloft's website, you can also do research on webmd.com.

i was on zoloft for awhile and i too noticed my eyes got glossy and my pupils got huge like i was on some street drugs.
now im on wellbutrin and they make me real edgy irritated, and angry.
zoloft never made me this way, they made me more relaxed and less irritable .
they helped me sleep a bit better and yes i did feel a bit weak but not as much as not able to lift objects.
now wellibutrin on the other hand makes me feel itchy all over and just snap crackel pop
