Friday morning my cat started to vomit. At first it was food. Now it's a clear mucusy liquid. He's also not eating and is hiding a lot. He won't play and seems very week. I started giving him pedialite last night as recomended by a vet i spoke to on the phone. He is starting to drink a little bit though this am.
Now here's the problem, and please don't trash me as i'm very scared for my cat. He's my baby. I have no money. I just lost my job and i have an infant to take care of also. I also am a homemaker who's just separated from her partner and main source of income.
Please help with suggestions. I'm so scared that i'm going to loose him. We do have an emergancy pet clinic, however i can't afford 75 for the exam. My regular vet isn't in till monday. I've had problems with the humane society before due to a bad landlord so i'm afraid to call them. I've lost so much already, i don't know what i'd do if i lost my cat next. I'm desprite. Thanks in advance.

Warm up a jar of Gerber's baby food -- turkey or chicken and mix that with a little water. Make sure it's warm and not hot. So he gets warm food and water in him.

As for as funds, here's a couple of suggestions. Wait 'til Monday and ask your regular vet for payment arrangements. Call your local SPCA and ask them for financial assistance. Or call a private animal rescue grouop and ask them for financial assistance.

if you have any, give your cat some pepto bismol. it will help, also what you are doing is good. If he's starting to drink, that's a good sign. Can you smell a really foul odor on his breath? not just the regular stinky cat breath, but really bad. If you can, it's an infection and he will need some antibiotic. Your vet can give you some to give him yourself. He could just have a major hairball thing going on too. if that's the problem, put some margarine on his coat where he can lick it off, or on a plate. This breaks up the hairballs and really does the trick.
I understand about loving your cat. you hang in there.
I'll be thinking of you and your problem.

Go to the emergancy pet clinic, even if you dont have enough money im sure they will come up with a plan you can pay for. Weather you pay the whole amount at one time or like just 5 doallars every payment.

Sounds like your cat is really sick. If getting to a vet is an issue because of money, and you really love your cat, I think you have to suck it up and call on the Humane Society. Good luck, hope this turns out well for you and your cat.

continue with the pedialite and feed him some baby cereal to make sure he doesn't lose any weight or anything. if it's a clear mucousy liquid it's most likely a respiratory infection. you could ask the emergency pet clinic if you could do a payment plan. some places will do them.

Not sure, but worth checking: can it be that something is stuck in his throat? (like a small bone or something)
