I purchased a new pc not that long ago with the OEM version of Windows Xp. It included a free upgrade to Windows Vista before march 1st. But when I go to the MS site, I don't see where I can upgrade my OS.

And if I do upgrade it, which version of Vista will I get? Because I don't want the stripped version, if that's the case, I'd rather stick with Xp.

Thanks for your time

Go to the manufacturer web site ... you order a DVD online .
(pay only shipping)
You have no choice as to which version .... depends on the original OS.
With XP (non Media Center) you will most likely get Home Basic.

Select the manufacturer of your PC on the Microsoft link for details :

If your Xp is home or media edition you'll upgrade to Home premium
but if your Xp is pro edition you'll upgrade to business edition of vista. and for that you need to go to the MS shop i guess, I'm not sure if you can upgrade from the web but I'm not sure. It's always better to check with the shop that you bought the computer or just call MS they will asist you.

You need to contact your computer manufacturer - they're the ones who have the information you need, and you may be able to get it from them instead of Microsoft's site. They'll also have information on which version you qualify for.

ask the computing gadget builder why he/she positioned a pirated version of xp on a gadget he bought to you. they could even see the mistakes of their techniques and provide you with a small refund in route of a acceptable replica. failing that, bypass purchase a acceptable replica your self. p.s. grass him/her up. lol
